Public Art + Placemaking
Shaping Our City’s Creative and Artistic Landscape

The establishment of the Public Art Program provides an intentional framework for how art is commissioned, funded, managed and maintained in the city of Yukon. It also addresses the collection of public art we currently have but also allows for growth and expansion.
It’s designed to transform our community in meaningful and lasting ways. The City of Yukon recognizes that public art enhances our community identity, strengthens economic vitality, fosters civic pride, and contributes to the aesthetic quality of our built environment.
Through partnerships and collaboration with local artists, businesses, schools, and community organizations, we can enrich our public spaces and ignite greater community connection and engagement. Public art that includes murals, sculptures, interactive installations, cultural landmarks, and more create opportunities for shared experiences that bring people together.
Not only does public art make our community a better place to live, it also makes Yukon a more attractive place to visit and invest in. Collectively we can shape our city’s creative and artistic landscape while honoring Yukon's heritage.
